Water Filter Guide for Keurig K200 Brewers

Does the Keurig K200 Have a Water Filter?

Yes. The Keurig K200 coffee brewer has a spot for a water filter located in the machine’s rear water reservoir. The K200 uses charcoal water filters measuring roughly 2 inches long by 1.125 inches tall. The filter is placed inside a BPA-free, clear plastic filter handle (typically sold separately from the brewer), which is then placed inside the water tank located on the back of the machine.

How Do I Replace the Keurig K200 Water Filter?

Simply twist the clear plastic filter housing until it comes loose from the bottom of the water reservoir. Remove the old charcoal water filter from the housing by unsnapping the bottom filter holder. Insert a new, fresh water filter cartridge and snap the filter holder back on so that the filter is securely in place. Finally, align the bottom of the filter housing with the indentations on the bottom of your water tank and twist into place.

Does the Keurig K200 Need a Water Filter?

Everyone’s water quality is different. It is commonly recommended to use a water filter to improve the quality and taste of your beverages, as well as to help protect your brewer against scale buildup from minerals in your water. You might especially want to use a water filter if you notice unpleasant tastes, such as from chlorine or other minerals.

How Often Should I Replace the Water Filter on a K200 Brewer?

You should change your Keurig K200’s Coffee Brewer’s water filter after brewing approximately 1000 fluid ounces through your machine. This equates to 125 eight ounce cups of coffee, or about every 2 months. After replacing your Keurig K200 water filter, you can set a water filter reminder using the touch screen on your K200 brewer.

Hey Truong, I just updated this post to give more details on how to replace the K200 water filter. The answer depends on whether or not you have the filter housing bracket yet. Unfortunately the K200 series brewers do not seem to come with them in the box.
