Yes, the Keurig K-Express coffee brewer, as well as the K-Express Essentials model, has a spot for a water filter located in the machine’s rear water reservoir. The K Express uses charcoal water filter cartridges measuring roughly 2 inches long by 1.125 inches tall. The filter is placed inside a BPA-free, clear plastic filter handle (typically sold separately from the brewer), which is then placed inside the water tank located on the back of the machine.
The K-Express brewer uses the Tall Handle Water Filter Holder. This water filter handle attachment is about 8 inches tall and is designed to install inside your Keurig coffee machine’s water reservoir tank.
To install the water filter on your Keurig K-Express brewer, simply twist the clear plastic filter housing until it comes loose from the bottom of the water reservoir. Remove the old charcoal water filter from the housing by unsnapping the bottom filter holder. Insert a new, fresh water filter cartridge and snap the filter holder back on so that the filter is securely in place. Finally, align the bottom of the filter housing with the indentations on the bottom of your water tank and twist into place.
You can use this descaling solution to clean and descale your Keurig K-Express coffee maker. It is recommended to descale at least once every 2-3 months to keep your brewer in healthy shape.
The Keurig K-Express brewer, as well as the K Express Essentials model, use these Charcoal Water Filter Cartridges. The size of these charcoal water filters are designed to be installed inside a water filter holder which is inserted inside your coffee machine’s water tank reservoir. The water filters measure only a couple inches long and fit the K-Express and Essentials brewer models.
Everyone’s water quality is different. It is commonly recommended to use a water filter to improve the quality and taste of your beverages, as well as to help protect your brewer against scale buildup from minerals in your water. You might especially want to use a water filter if you notice unpleasant tastes, such as from chlorine or other minerals.
You should change your water filter after brewing approximately 1000 fluid ounces through your coffee maker. This comes out to about 125 eight ounce cups of coffee, or about every 2 months.
The K Express and K-Express Essentials brewer is compatible with the My K-Cup Universal Reusable Coffee Filter. You can use this accessory to brew your own coffee in the K-Express coffee machine as if you were using a K-Cup pod. This Coffee Filter is refillable and you can use it to refill your own ground coffee.
