Keurig K-Elite Water Filter Guide

Does the Keurig K-Elite Have a Water Filter?

Yes. The Keurig K-Elite (K90) coffee brewer has a spot for a water filter located in the machine’s side water reservoir. The K Elite uses charcoal water filters measuring roughly 2 inches long by 1.125 inches tall. The filter is placed inside a BPA-free, clear plastic filter handle (typically sold separately from the brewer), which is then placed inside the water tank located on the side of the machine.

How Often Should I Replace the Water Filter on my K-Elite or K90 Brewer?

You should change your water filter after brewing approximately 1000 fluid ounces through your coffee maker. This comes out to about 125 eight ounce cups of coffee, or about every 2 months.

How Do I Replace the Keurig K-Elite Water Filter?

Simply twist the clear plastic filter housing until it comes loose from the bottom of the water reservoir. Remove the old charcoal water filter from the housing by unsnapping the bottom filter holder. Insert a new, fresh water filter cartridge and snap the filter holder back on so that the filter is securely in place. Finally, align the bottom of the filter housing with the indentations on the bottom of your water tank and twist into place.

Does the Keurig K-Elite Need a Water Filter?

Everyone’s water quality is different. It is commonly recommended to use a water filter to improve the quality and taste of your beverages, as well as to help protect your brewer against scale buildup from minerals in your water. You might especially want to use a water filter if you notice unpleasant tastes, such as from chlorine or other minerals.
